Job Summary:

A key technical member of the global Enterprise Product Management team focused on creating technical sales and marketing collateral.
Qualified candidates will be a bridge between the Product Development, Product Management, Product Marketing and Sales organizations.
The ideal Technical Product Engineer should strive to understand the partner communities as well as the customer’s networking environment, security threats, and buying behaviors. Using this information the Technical Product Engineer will synthesize succinct technical documents to enable global Sales and SE teams.
This position reports directly to the Foundation Team’s Technical Product Management.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform a wide range of activities on Trend Micro and Competitor products including technical market research, technical requirements and competitive analysis, solution implementation, performance benchmarking and effectiveness testing
  • Demonstrate knowledge in multiple Trend Micro and Competitor products areas and be capable of installation, configuration, administration, and analysis in pursuit of the knowledge to product features, functions and design
  • Design and create the technical marketing collaterals that details Key Selling features to allow Sales and Sales Engineers to compete effectively in a sales situation
  • Own the responsibility, success and deliverables of technical marketing collaterals
  • Candidate must be able to identify and resolve customer engagement issues; escalate if appropriate. Reseller and Customer satisfaction focused.
  • Help to ensure individual, team and segment objectives and goals are achieved.
  • Have the capabilities of independent study, research, and authoring competitive technical marketing documents

Requirements:

Senior-level Position

  • 2-5 years working in hardware and software IT industry as a sr. technical engineer
  • Be able to develop and create the test plans for benchmark and performance analysis and be able to execute the plan
  • Have the capabilities to work and provide guidance with more junior-level Engineers to perform installation, tests, and benchmarks in a technical lab environment.
  • Task oriented, able to work without close supervision, highly disciplined, excellent problem solving skills, very analytical
  • Expert experience in operation system administration for Windows, UNIX platforms and VMware ESXi
  • Strong understanding for the following protocols and how to effectively test: SMTP, HTTP, FTP, POP3, and Proprietary Client-server Protocols.
  • Expert experience at networking level devices is a strong plus. For example, routers, switches, firewalls, load-balancers, authentication, web servers.
  • Experience in test software and/or hardware, such as Spirent Avalanche, WebBench, Silk Performer, Netpressure, are a strong plus.
  • Excellent time management and communication skills
  • Expert experience on Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, Project)
  • Solid experience on Web or HTML tools; Strong plus with script languages (such as Java script, Perl, Python)
  • Seasoned document authoring skills
  • Must be able to work independently and effectively; be flexible with working with peers and others in their time zones
  • Must have excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills; be able to conduct technical marketing training via WebEx. Be able to present the Benchmark and Performance Results to a live audience
  • One or more of the following certifications: CISSP or other National Ratings, or equivalent and must keep current

 

Junior-level Position

  • 0-2 working in hardware and software IT industry as a technical engineer
  • Have the capabilities to work with senior Technical Product Engineers to perform installation, tests, and benchmarks in a technical lab environment. Be able to follow the test plans in benchmark and performance analysis
  • Self motivated, quick-to-learn, disciplined, focused, and able to work minimal supervision
  • Experienced in operation system administration for Windows and UNIX platforms
  • Technical experience at a networking level device. For example, routers, switches, firewalls, load-balancers, authentication, web servers. More devices are a strong plus.
  • Experience in some of network test software and/or hardware, such as Spirent Avalanche, WebBench, Silk Performer, Netpressure, are a strong plus.
  • Familiar with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint)
  • Experience on Web or HTML tools
  • Experience on technical document writing
  • Good time management and communication skills
  • Able to work independently; be flexible with working with peers and others in their time zones
  • Good verbal, written, and presentation skills; be able to present technical marketing material
  • One or more of the following certifications: CCNP, CCSP, MCSE, etc. and must keep up-to-date

 

Desirable Skills:

Expert experience and knowledge on the following: Antivirus, Anti-spam, Anti-spyware, Anti-pharming, Anti-phishing, and Security Content Management products.
