Job Description
Cloud Operation Engineer
Responsibilities:
· act as single point of contact to provide professional Cloud datacenter operations support for the backend infrastructure of Trend Micro’s cloud security business; support will be primarily provided via phone and email
· perform incident/alert troubleshooting, problem analysis, and provide high quality solutions to technical issues and service request; with adherence to standard operating procedures (SOP), as well as injecting own methodologies in resolving incidents
· become part of the 24×7 DCS Cloud Service Operations Center (COC) service desk team, reporting on a particular shift
· help to ensure that the 24×7 DCS Cloud Service Operations team is able to manage and consistently achieve the Service Level Objective (SLO) targets of DCS Operations via effective and efficient service monitoring and incident handling
· escalate unresolved, complex technical issues with the relevant troubleshooting results to DCS COC senior engineering teams, in a timely fashion
· analyze, validate, and filter alerts from monitoring systems and convert them to trouble tickets or service requests as necessary
· participate on service/server deployment activities as part of a technical project delivery
· conduct training to co-Engineers as appropriate
Requirements:
· Bachelor’s Degree in IT, Computer Science, or related field
· At least 1 year in IT or datacenter operations related job experience
Minimum requirements:
· Has at least one or two of the following Linux/*NIX server administration skills and experience:
o basic Linux server installation/deployment, linux security configuration management (e.g. iptables); or
o basic Linux service config skills (e.g. apache/tomcat, lighthttpd, mySQL, postfix, etc.); or
o Linux user management (e.g. local user accounts, key-based authentication); or
o analizing/troubleshooting linux networking-related issues (e.g. using arp, netstat, trace route); or
o basic Linux system log troubleshooting (e.g. system logs, maillogs)
· Has at least one or two of the following Windows 2003/2008 server administration skills and experience:
o Windows 2003/2008 server installation/deployment; or
o basic Windows Active Directory (AD) domain/OU administration; or
o Windows system health troubleshooting (e.g. via perfmon); or
o Windows server troubleshooting (e.g. Event log analysis, IIS log analysis, etc)
· Has good ability in analyzing, troubleshooting, & resolving basic network service connectivity issues (DNS, DHCP, firewall, etc). using basic tools e.g. ping/telnet/tracert/nslookup
· Experience in using secured remote access tools (e.g. RDP, SSH/PuTTY) in managing Windows or Linux servers remotely
· Customer-service oriented with good written/oral communication skills
· A good working knowledge of MSOutlook and MS Office
· Punctuality; must be ready to work by their start time and willing to be flexible with their work schedules/arrangements
· Ability to work under pressure and with less supervision
· Must be willing to learn, upgrade technical skills, and co-operate as part of a team
· Technical certification is NOT necessary; but ANY of the following is a PLUS:
o RHCSA/RHCT/LPIC in Linux; MCSA2003/MCITP2008 Windows server admin certification
o CCNA certification
