Responsibilities
The Financial Analyst reports financial status by preparing and analyzing financial plans, forecasts and reports. Study the market, relevant industry, assessing current trends in business practices, products and industry competition. Meet with Company officers to gain a better insight into the Company’s prospects and must keep abreast of new regulations or policies that may affect the industry as well as monitor the economy to determine its effect on earnings.
Job Duties:
- Tracks financial status by monitoring variances from plan
- Determine financial status by analyzing financial data, spotting trends and developing forecasts, comparing plans and projections with actual results.
- Improves financial status by analyzing results and variances; identifying trends; evaluation of the market environment; recommending actions.
- Reconciles transactions by comparing and correcting data.
- Perform balance sheet analysis and examining the audited financial statements.
- Provides information to management by assembling and summarizing data; present findings, analyses and financial risks associated with making a particular investment decision.
- Read company financial statements and analyze commodity prices, sales, costs, expenses and tax rates in order to determine a company’s value and project future earnings.
- Ensure that the forms and written materials necessary for compliance with Securities and Exchange Commission regulations are accurate and complete.
- Studying public records and filings by the company, one-on-one meetings with senior members of management teams.
- Work on mergers and acquisitions by preparing analyses on the costs and benefits of a proposed merger or takeover.
- Preparing reports and making presentations
Requirements
- Candidate must possess at least a Bachelor’s/College Degree , Post Graduate Diploma / Master’s Degree, Economics, Finance/Accountancy/Banking, Business Studies/Administration/Management, Commerce or equivalent.
- CPA and MBA an advantage
- Has at least 5 – 7 years experience in the areas of Financial Forecasting, Corporate Finance, Financial Diagnosis, Information and Statistical Analysis, Financial Planning and Strategy
- Excellent communication and reporting/presentation skills
- Skilled in Powerpoint and Excel formats.
